Hello,
Those of you who are interested in the local Las Vegas Housing Market should take the time to read this article that is in today's Review Journal. It's interesting to see that Dennis Smith and Larry Murphy have finally taken off their rose-colored sunglasses and have been forced into telling more of the truth these days. They have tried their hardest to spin our current market conditions into positive territory and I guess I have to give them credit for trying, but they alone can't make a market move in one direction or another, no matter how hard they try.
By the way, this morning at 8:40 a.m. we had 22,808 listings on the MLS. I'm always baffled at where Dennis gets his count as it is always off by anywhere from 2000 to 2500.
Sellers, please take special note of paragraph number six.
And, last but certainly not least, the last paragraph makes references to the fact that Builder incentives do not inflate new home prices. Well, in my opinion they DO inflate the price. I don't know who they think they are kidding???
I don't mean to be pessimistic about the housing market. However, I do believe in being truthful and for Sellers the truth of the matter is "it's going to get worse before it gets better". However, for those of you in the market to buy, things couldn't be better - and it's more than likely that they'll get even better in 2007.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Enjoy!
